A short walk on a graffiti pathway and through a bird sanctuary leads to a secluded beach. Walk along the sandy shore with petrified driftwood and see this historic lighthouse in the distance. Please be aware that summer beach traffic to Folly Beach can be lengthy.

Enjoy a beach day like a local at Sullivan's Island, the closest beach to downtown. There is plenty of street parking, but pay attention to parking signage, and be sure your car tires are *completely* off the pavement to avoid a ticket! Check out Fort Moultrie, one of the oldest still-standing forts on the Eastern Seabord.
Take a stroll through one of Charleston's largest parks. It boasts the most extensive floral displays of any park in the city. An old rose collection and seasonal displays are planted by the staff and volunteers caring for the park. Spanish moss drapes the old oak trees along the perimeter.
