Starting at age 2, Jesse and I grew up with one another playing at the ball fields, because our older brothers played on the same team. Our families grew to be friends during that time, but we went to different schools and fell out of touch. Due to growing up in the same hometown, we often heard stories of our families running into one another and how the other was doing, which fostered the respect and admiration we held for one another. About three years ago, neither of us were planning on going out, but each of us had friends that insisted that we go. I noticed him first and wanted to leave because I did not want him to think of me that way, but again my friend insisted on staying for a drink. After that bit of encouragement, I went to say hello. I only meant to say hello to an old friend, but he immediately let me know that he wanted to take me on a date. The following weekend we went to dinner and we both knew that it was different and could be something special. To ensure it wasn’t merely infatuation with the nostalgia of our history, I made him wait nearly six months before I would officially be his girlfriend. He proved that I was the one that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. We got engaged at the Botanical Gardens on 4.17.2021 and will be getting married on 04.30.2022.
