We're Getting Married!

In 2019, Jesse and I met for the first time in the hallway of Chamberlain Lofts at Iowa State University. Our first conversation sparked an instant connection, leading us to exchange Snapchat handles just before spring break. While Jesse basked in the sun of the U.S. Virgin Islands and I soaked up the beach vibes in Panama City, we found ourselves talking all week! Following spring break, we realized the chemistry was undeniable. We decided to date shortly thereafter, feeling that everything was falling perfectly into place. That summer presented its own set of challenges as we navigated a long-distance relationship. Jesse returned home to work while I stayed in Ames to continue my campus job. We made the most of our time apart, planning visits and counting down the days until we could see each other again. Just three months into dating, as we embarked on our junior year, we took a leap of faith by getting Tito from a (somewhat) sketchy Craigslist ad. Friends and family were hesitant, but our hearts were set. Bringing Tito into our lives only deepened our bond, and we couldn't have been happier with the decision! The rest of our college years became a whirlwind of travel as we journeyed back and forth between Minneapolis and Ames. While I was finishing up college, Jesse was working a co-op at Braun Intertec in Minneapolis, but we cherished every moment we were together. Each visit was filled with laughter, late-night talks, and the simple joy of being in each other's presence. As graduation approached, the excitement of a new chapter loomed over us! Finally, after Jesse graduated, he moved up to Minneapolis where we (officially) started living together, then later, we decided to move outside the city to Bloomington. Life became a tapestry of shared experiences, from cozy evenings at home to spontaneous adventures around the city. With each passing day, our relationship grew stronger, grounded in love, trust, and a shared vision for the future. Together, we navigated the ups and downs of starting our life together post-college. We often reflect on how far we've come - from that first encounter outside our apartment doors in Chamberlain Lofts, to adjusting to life after college, to now planning our wedding. :) On August 23rd, 2024 Jesse proposed on a sunny Friday while on a walk with Tito. And so, our journey continues, filled with endless possibilities, love, and the promise of many more adventures to come!
