It’s the largest in the nation. We purposely scheduled our wedding this weekend so our guests could have a chance to enjoy the fair. Expect deep fried foods of all kinds, live farm animals, and various attractions and rides. It’s very easy to get to the fair with regular shuttles from Minneapolis.

Every year, Minnesotans wait with bated breath on the list of new, adventurous fun foods available at the Mn State Fair. Just another reason to go. (We really want you to go!) One of the biggest attractions of the Twin Cities. Great place to people watch, swim, walk, hammock, and picnic. You can rent a canoe or kayak there. Our favorite is Lake of the Isles.

Lovely place for anyone who enjoys picnics and flowers. Has a rose garden, a japanese garden, and a bird sanctuary situated right next to Lake Harriet.

The Walker Art Center & Sculpture Garden

The most famous museum for modern art in the Twin Cities. Includes a large modern sculpture garden open to the public which has the famous spoon and cherry sculpture and the blue rooster.

Great cocktails and old-fashion ambience at this speakeasy-styled bar. You gotta enter through the back (look for the door with the red light above it). They take reservations.

Makes you feel like you're in the tropics. Expect to see tropical plants and animals, flowers, bonsai trees, a sloth, and an outdoor Japanese garden. There is also an attached zoo for any little ones.

Science stuff and one of the largest concave theaters in the country. It makes everything look 3D and extremely large. Not recommended for those who get motion sickness easily.

For the shoppers— This might still be the largest mall in America. Mary enjoys Sea Life even though it’s tailored towards young children. You can go there to buy stuff or get some exercise like the speed walkers who do laps around the building.
