When Jesse and I first met I was 17 and a junior in high school starting my first job at Panera. He was 19 and also working at Panera, but our story doesn’t start for another year and a half. Fast forward to Septemeber 2014. I was still working at Panera, but Jesse was not. One night I was closing at work and I am outside taking out the trash(how romantic) and Jesse pops his head around the corner and says “oh hey!” I was thankful to see him because I was having some issues with the compact dumpster, so he helped me. He swears to this day I was just flirting with him, but I actually was having issues! 😂 We said our good byes, but then later that night he asked me for my number via Twitter. That was the start of staying up all night talking, hanging out 24/7, and going on dates. As they say, the rest is history. We could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in our journey with each of you, who have played (and will continue to play) such an important part in our adventure!
Jesse’s propsal was simple and sweet. It was our 4th anniversary. Jesse was picking me up from my house to celebrate in Downtown Annapolis. I hear a knock on the door and I answer it ready to go. I had left my purse at his house so he handed it to me and I kept walking. He stopped me saying, “hold on there’s something in your purse.” I opened my purse and there it was. The tiny red James Allen box. My jaw immediately drops and I start smiling from ear to ear. So many thoughts were running through my head as I had been wondering how this moment was going to play out. He grabs the box from me and begins his speech of how perfect I am, how much he loves me, and how he can’t imagine living his life without me. My heart was racing and tears were flowing(from the both of us) He then gets down on his knee on my front porch and asks me to marry him. I honestly could not say “yes” fast enough followed by plenty of hugs and kisses. It was by far the happiest day of our lives by far. Until the wedding of course!
