A short drive from Albuquerque will land you in the town of Madrid. An old mining town, Madrid hosts the famous Mins Shaft Tavern and Cantina. Head here for some great drinks, good music and NM history.
Want to see Albuquerque from its highest point? Take the longest tram to the top of Sandia Peak. It's an awesome view from the top, especially at sunset! There is a restaurant/bar up top along with several hiking trails.
