Jesse and I both started to work in the town of Medora, North Dakota in the summer of 2015. Jesse sat next to me at a CRU bonfire one night. I didn't think too much of it, and I could barely see him because it was so dark! A few weeks later after a rained out night at the Medora Musical, I accepted a friend's request for dinner at a co- worker's house. To my surprise, Jesse was there and remembered exactly who I was. We instantly hit it off and made each other laugh like no one has before. The rest is history!
The Schuler family was taking a break from the cold North Dakota winter and decided to vacation in Tucson, Arizona. Jesse had bought a ring and had plans to ask Grace to be his wife, but was waiting for the perfect moment. The whole trip, Jesse was adamant about hiking to the top of one of the mountains in the area. On January 3rd, Grace obliged and found a perfect hike of the two of them. This hike was 3 miles each way, with 1400+ feet elevation gain. As we reached the top, Jesse began to dig in Grace's bag to find "snacks." Instead, he pulled out a ring and asked Grace to be his forever. She said yes! Even though Grace lost two toe nails in the process of the hike, she still thinks it was worth it.
