It was November 13th, I had picked up Cassidy for lunch at the park, by this time in our relationship we had already talked about marriage and knew that’s what we wanted with each other. We had both bought rings and were waiting for their arrival in the mail. Once both sets of rings arrived we were going to have what we called "open season" were both of us could propose to the other when ever we wanted. So, there we were no rings, eating lunch, when I felt prompted that I should ask her to marry me, So I pulled out a Taco Bell Fire sauce packet that had the words "Marry Me!" on it and handed it to her. She asked me if that was a joke or a question, I skated by the question saying "I don’t know, why don’t you tell me". She said that if I didn’t give a definitive question then she wouldn’t give me a definitive answer. So, I let it go for the time being, I felt again to ask her to marry me so I decided to do just that. So, I prepared myself to ask her, waiting for the right moment. After finishing a sip from her drink, she turned towards me, and I asked very lovingly " Cassidy Janelle Pope, will you marry me?" she said yes and we embraced each other. After a very loving and joyful moment she pulls out of the hug and tells me that she is upset with me! She tells me that she had also had a prompting to ask me to marry her, and when she had decided that she was going to ask me she went to take a sip of her drink to clear her throat and then ask me. So I had beaten her to the punch by “30 seconds!” using her own words to describe this moment. We then laughed about the whole situation, and realized how sweet and loving it was that we had both felt prompted to ask each other to marry the other person at the exact same time.
