How We Met

We met in October 2020 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, the place where Cambron grew up and where I was attending school. After becoming friends and bonding over COVID-era games like Animal Crossing, we went on our first date at a restaurant in Charlotte that we both loved from visiting our families in Charleston. At dinner, I told Cambron a story about the time I ordered food way too spicy at an Indian restaurant and promised I’d never make that mistake again. Naturally, I then ordered a spicy noodle dish and spent the meal convinced I was completely embarrassing myself. What I didn’t realize was that Cambron thought the date was going perfectly. We ended up talking for hours afterward, not realizing it was the start of something truly special.

The Proposal

The week of our anniversary, I had a sneaking suspicion that a proposal might be coming. But after a rainstorm and a few unexpected changes of plans (which I later learned were all part of the plan) I was convinced it wasn’t happening. On the day of our engagement, I was out getting lunch when Cambron called to say we had dinner reservations on Sullivan’s Island. I rushed home to get ready and could hardly contain my excitement as we drove toward the coast. When we parked near the lighthouse and walked down to the beach, Cambron got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Through the excitement, I forgot to say yes, but the answer was clear. We are excited to start this next journey with all of you!
