He was born and raised in a small country town in the center of Brazil. She grew up amidst the forests and mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Educational ambitions and a mutual thirst for adventure led them each on a separate journey to Sydney, Australia in 2014. Their journeys collided when they found themselves living together as housemates in a giant house filled with the vibrant cultures of 9 housemates from 7 different countries. After a close friendship of six months, he took her to their favorite spot, where he requested the song "Brown Eyed Girl", bought her a hazelnut Gelato, and asked her to be his Girlfriend. The couple bonded over their love for adventure, lazy rainy days, and a never ending curiosity about life. Many rainy days, road-trips, and hazelnut gelatos later, he took her camping to San Bernardino National Forest, where they hiked up the mountain, and to the top of a giant boulder. He knelt down on one knee and asked her to be his forever. She felt as though she could fly, and nothing could have been more perfect in that moment. The couple said "I do" at an intimate ceremony nestled in the snowy mountains of Leavenworth, Washington, on January 3rd, 2019.

Após uma estreita amizade de seis meses, ele a levou para seu local favorito, onde ele pediu a música "Brown Eyed Girl", comprou um gelato de avelã para ela, e a pediu para ser sua namorada. O casal criou laços com seu amor pela aventura, pela preguiça dos dias chuvosos e a uma interminável curiosidade sobre a vida. Muitos dias chuvosos, passeios na estrada e gelatos de avelã mais tarde, ele a levou para acampar na Floresta Nacional de San Bernardino, onde subiram a montanha e ao topo de uma pedra gigante, ele se ajoelhou e pediu que ela fosse sua para sempre. Ela se sentiu como se pudesse voar, e nada poderia ter sido mais perfeito naquele momento. O casal disse "sim" em uma cerimônia íntima localizada nas montanhas cobertas de neve em Leavenworth, Washington, em 3 de janeiro de 2019.
