Jesse & Julie met fall of 2013 at Goose Creek Correctional Center. Julie was a Probation Officer & Jesse was hired shortly after her as a Correctional Officer. Jesse did a week of training as a mod officer in Julie's mod... and all she could think was, "This guy is like, 12. How did he get hired?" She eventually figured out he was the same age as her. Julie moved to the Anchorage Field Probation Office in April of 2014, and Jesse also became a Probation Officer there in 2015. She bought him coffee on his first day and helped with his field clearance. They quickly became field partners and best friends. Jesse thinks it helped that he liked to call Julie abrasive. Jesse moved into the basement apartment of Julie's old house in the fall of 2016. Sometime after that best friends turned into romance... and here we are!

February 14, 2019 Julie: So Valentine’s Day hasn’t really been my thing for awhile. This year, Jesse and I decided to do no gifts and just dress up and have a nice dinner at home. While I was at work, he sent me a sweet text telling me something unique he loves about me (for the third day in a row). Best present ever. ❤️❤️ Those texts made my day each time I received one! When I got home he was dressed up, had candles and sweet music, had cleaned the house and had a delicious dinner made. (No ladies, you can’t have him 😂). I changed into a cute dress and we had a romantic and absolutely delicious dinner (seriously, this man makes a mean steak and garlic mashed potatoes!!) After dinner we danced in the kitchen and talked and laughed. I love how much fun we have and how sweet he is. Best night ever right? But then he got kinda nervous... and said cute things about wanting be together forever and asked if I did too. So I giggled and said yes, of course I do. And then he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. And I cried. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂. ❤️❤️Best Valentine’s Day ever ❤️❤️ Jesse: I had five shots of vodka and then asked her to marry me. Somewhere in there I threatened to maim Gary for keeping her at work late and Kat because I thought she spilled the beans asking about rings.
