Believe it or not, Zach and I have known eachother since middle school in 2010. He was one of my first friends since going to a new school. We lived just minutes away from one another and enjoyed the same clubs and activities our schools had to offer. He and I were bandmates and were often in class together. We were friends and hung out during practices. We would always wave to one another if we passed on campus and enjoyed eachothers corny jokes. It was our senior year in high school that changed it all. Since Zach was no longer part of the band program we saw eachother rarely. However, we had a class together. Economics and government ( how exciting, huh?). It was a rough year for both of us. From Zach blowing out his knee and my awful lovelife prior, Zach new just what to do to cheer me up. He invited me to Disney. Epcot was always my favorite because I loved walking around the world showcase and of course, buying japanese candies. We didn’t consider it a date at first, but looking back... it was totally a date. He made me laugh and for the first time in a while I genuinely enjoyed myself! That was the first of many times we hung out to do homework or occasionally bringing hot cocoa for him at work. As the months passed we eventually knew we liked eachother more than just friends. We have been together since Fabruary 16th, 2015 and it feels like it was just yesterday that he was giving me silly drawing ideas or texting eachother late at night funny memes about spongebob. We still do and we couldn’t be happier.
It was my birthday. We asked off of work and planned a whole day to go to disney. We wanted to go to all the spots. But of course I wanted to go to Epcot ( though it is the easiest park to get into) we went there first. We enjoyed the food and wine festival and founds some great little dishes to try. We HAD to see starwars edge of the galaxy world and to check out some rides too. My favorite is Spaceship Earth ( I know I know... boring). It was the first ride we rode together back when we first went on February 4th, 2015. We first went to Epcot knowing it may be closed for renovations. I was devastated, of course, but I wasn’t going to let it ruin the whole day. Walking into the park I noticed a line! It was still open and I knew I wanted to save that for last before going to the next park. After stuffing our faces and feeling the toll of the walk on our feet, we knew it was time to sit and relax. What better ride than Spaceship Earth?! We put on our silliest faces for the camera and listened to the woman bringing us through time. Giggling as we knew our pictures would soon be revealed our time traveling cars rotated backwards. Leaning back cascaded by the thousands of twinkle lights Zach nudges me. Leaning over he whispers “I was going to wait till the fireworks, but I think this is the perfect time to ask...” I look over to him as he holds the ring for me. Of course, I cry and take a moment to collect myself, wiping any mascara that had streaked down my cheeks before happily accepting, I asked, “ Are you serious?” Zach laughs and responds, “Is that a no?” I give him a shove and shake my head, “No! Of course I want to marry you! Took you long enough!” I said yes. We both knew we wanted to get married, however we weren’t sure when or where we wanted it to happen. I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal. No need for crowds or embarrassing flashmobs, just a personal moment for just us to enjoy. The rest of the day I’m sure I was just beaming, as was Zach.
