Let the celebration begin!

At one of our popular dive bars in town, two groups of friends merged giving Tristan the chance to approach Jessica. Although he secured her digits that night, in the following weeks she was extremely slow to respond to texts and dodged multiple attempts at a date. Finally, Jessica agreed to lunch rather than dinner, (lame) and no drinking was to be done as she had work later that evening (first date and no alcohol to take the edge off-yikes!). Tristan told his dad how he really wanted to impress this new young lady he had met so Daniel allowed him to take his beloved 1970 Norton Fastback to pick Jess up on. The two had a great ride up along the Pacific Coast Highway up into the Malibu hills to a hidden gem, Malibu Cafe (thankfully spared by the recent Woolsey Fire). Albeit stone cold sober, it was a relaxing and easy going first date. We got cut short by needing to get Jessica back to work and of course, in the middle of summer in Southern California, it began to rain. The old bikes don't have gas lights and apparently small tanks, as we learned by running out of gas coming down the Conejo grade. We coasted into an auto shop that somewhat saved Tristan's embarrassment with some fuel. Maybe it was the bone head move, or maybe not but again, Jessica dodged Tristan's multiple attempts at another date. It wasn't until months later that the two unintentionally rendezvoused at the lake where Jessica finally displayed the same sparks Tristan had the whole time. The sweet guy, handy around the camp man stuff and especially the cooking finally was too much for Jessica to ignore and she hasn't looked back since!
