Truitt and I met in Indianapolis, Indiana. Truitt was out celebrating the end of his first year of law school and I was out with my friends celebrating my graduation from Butler. My friends and I decided to go to one of our favorite places for dollar beer and dueling pianos-- Howl at the Moon. Truitt approached me and struck up a conversation. He told me he was from Alaska and of course I did not believe him! Obviously, I made him pull out his drivers license to prove it. Truitt asked for my phone number and I told him I would give it to him if he could remember my name. What he said next was definitely a surprise. " What is in a name? Would a rose not smell as sweet if a rose not called?" I was speechless, so my friend Jenny jumped in and said she would give him my number if he bought us a bucket of beer. Truitt marched to bar and bought the bucket of beer and our love story began.
