In 2015, Jessica attended the iconic Electric Forest Music Festival in Michigan. Her weekend getaway with her Chicago festie crew planned to camp with another group from LA!!! They rolled in with full “California knows how to party” energy, and Jessica was immediately drawn to their next-level vibes. Somewhere between the music, the magic of the forest, and the carefree festival spirit, something clicked. Figuring out her next chapter, that weekend sparked a feeling she couldn’t ignore. It was time for her to make the big move to California where she was meant to be!! Fast forward to her 1st year living in THE OC… Jessica was ready to take on another festival staple - Coachella! She kept in loose touch with that same LA crew she met at Electric Forest and went with them. This was just the beginning of hearing more about the one person in the group that wasn’t there… Sean!! Fast forward again… to a warehouse party in DTLA. Jessica went to a “Wine & Cheese” themed event to catch some DJs. And who did she see behind the decks.. someone she already knew of but never officially met? The one and only Sean... Aka Tōks!!! Naturally, Jessica watched him in awe and was captivated by his effortlessly cool vibes from the crowd... and acted like she knew who he was without actually introducing herself. Fast forward to 2018... Desert Hearts Festival & life in LA. Jessica was fully immersed in the electronic music scene, once again partying with the Wine & Cheese crew. This time, she met Sean and learned he was the co-founder of the themed party. In true “meant to be, but not yet" fashion, they ended up standing next to each other in the group photo. 2019… Desert Hearts, round II. Jessica camped with the Wine & Cheese crew and got to see Sean again... and they ended up next to each other in the group photo by chance AGAIN! Both photos show him wearing the same blonde dreaded wig. Check out the gallery tab, and you’ll see the 2018 and 2019 proof. We swear this wasn’t planned! That Summer after, Sean hosted a "Wigged Out" themed party at his place, where Jessica and a friend showed up in afro wigs. And just like that… it was the last time they saw each other for years. Until 2022… Sean made a smooth move and slid into Jessica’s Instagram DMs, replying to a story when she happened to be near his hometown on Balboa Island. Jessica was ecstatic to hear from him and discovering his music taste went far beyond house and techno. What Sean didn’t know at the time was that Jessica's mother passed away, and she was spending time back in Chicago. During that difficult transition, he became one of the few people she felt comfortable talking to - drawn by his calm, kind, and grounding presence. When he learned what she had been going through, he asked her to go on a hike once she got back to LA. Jessica was excited to reconnect with an old friend and spend 1 on 1 time together… not realizing that Sean very much considered this a first date. Shortly after, Jessica reached out and asked if he wanted to go on a walk. Without hesitation, Sean replied that he’d be over in 20 minutes. After spending more time together, there was a little confusion in the air… Was Sean interested in Jessica? Or was he just being an incredibly thoughtful friend? A few days later, Sean asked Jessica out to dinner. She said yes and Sean quickly followed up with: “It’s a date". From where it all began to where they finally met, music has always been at the core of their story. You can always count on them to keep dancing their way through life together, one concert and festival at a time!
