Our Story

It all started when Sal liked my comment about ice cream dates, eating Mexican food, and going on adventures on Hinge. We messaged back and forth for a while and then finally decided to meet. He asked me if I wanted to go get coffee at Five Points Bakery, which I naturally said yes to (even though I don’t like coffee 😅). We met there on Thursday July 21, 2022 in the afternoon. We talked for almost two hours straight, not realizing that the time even passed and that we were there when they were closing! We both knew leaving that day that this was the start of something different. We went on tons of fun dates that we hold near to our hearts. I closed on my house that September and we put a lot of work in to it alongside my parents so that I could get moved in. He stuck through all of that with me! Then we went on our first vacation together to Key West in December and upon our return, there was a blizzard! I won’t ever forget putting the new snowblower together in the living room. Fast forward to July of 2023. We moved Sal in to the house with me and then went on vacation to Lake Placid. My birthday was a Friday so we headed up the day before. We decided to climb Mount Marcy, the tallest mountain here in New York, to celebrate. Let’s just say, it wasn’t exactly the most enjoyable experience the whole way up and down, but the top was beautiful! The next day was rainy. We had breakfast and then walked around town shopping for a while. We had a dinner reservation for 5pm, to which Sal convinced me that we should go back to the hotel room and start getting ready at 3:30pm. We got ready, took a picture, and started walking to dinner at about 4:45. Here’s where Sal’s plan took a turn- it was still raining. He wanted to get ready so early because he planned to propose BEFORE dinner… but it was still raining. So we go in and the host shows us two different tables that are a little big for just two people. Sal was acting weird and said we should walk back toward the front door, so I followed him only to find my whole family standing there to surprise me! I started to get a little suspicious, but really thought we were just celebrating birthdays. Sal picked at his dinner, which isn’t unusual, and I just figured it was because we had a late breakfast. When we left the restaurant after dessert, Sal said that he thought my parents wanted a picture down in the little park area. So we walked over and stood by the water to get a picture. I was being dramatic about having to take off my coat for the picture. When I walked over to him, he started talking to me and then got down on one knee!! I was shocked! I obviously said yes or all of this would not be happening! ❤️
