On a complete fluke, I downloaded the app Tinder. At the time, it was a newer app for people to make a profile and try a quick, modern way of dating. As nervous and leery as I was to have the app, I quickly realized, I had to be lucky to find a guy that was willing to actually pursue me and be vulnerable. Little did I know, a boy named Ryan would come up as someone who was "matched" with me. Fast forward, after several conversations, dates and many miles, we are here getting married at the beautiful Heartwood Resort, only a couple hours from our newly built home.
A yearly tradition that our family's have done since we have been together is going ice fishing for an entire day on Upper St. Croix Lake in Ryan's hometown, Solon Springs. It was my turn to run and grab the next tip up flag, to hopefully catch a fish. As I was finishing up lunch in the shack, a flag went up, so I ran out to go and retrieve it! While pulling up the line, without me knowing, everyone came outside, out and around to where I was. As I held the large northern for a picture, Ryan was to my side on one knee. Of course, being me, I didn't notice. My sisters both said in-sync, "Look at Ryan!", and as I turned my head, I immediately started to bawl. This was it. The symbol of a forever life with your best friend. Without a doubt, I said yes, and we continued on with some amazing fishing, and lots of smiles!
