It was in 2009, the summer after my Freshman year of college and Rob had been traveling the world for BMX. He randomly sent me a message through Facebook, and against my better judgement, I decided to hang out with this super cute, total stranger. We actually ended up dating for a few weeks that summer. Things were complicated, and we were young, but I always say i've loved him since the summer of 2009. We had something that was different than anything i'd ever felt before, passionate, and intense; we just adored each other. Fast forward to a few years later, where our paths crossed again. We picked up right where we left off. I remember the first date we went on, Rob took me on the back of his motorcycle and we ended up in a pouring rain storm, to the point where we had to stop at the gas station and wait it out. Freezing cold, and soaking wet, we drank coffee on the curb, and I felt like I could sit there and talk with him forever. We spent the next couple of months falling in love. We couldn't get enough of each other. But this time, like the last, things were messy and our timing wasn't quite right. Another two years and an out of state move later, Rob moved back to Utah and I couldn't resist reaching out to him. I asked if he'd go and play pool with me so we could catch up. Playing pool has always been our favorite thing to do with each other, given how incredibly competitive we both are. Plus I know he can't resist a gal who can school him on the pool table. He showed up to my apartment mid November and I was insanely nervous. I wasn't sure if after all this time we would still feel the same as we did back in the summer of 2009. Funny thing is we did. We've been inseparable since that night.
