We met at an event that we were both working in Napa. Patrick mustered up the nerve to ask me out on St. Paddy’s Day (so fitting for a Flanagan and big thank you to Guinness for providing that liquid courage) We hit it off right away and never looked back. Though we lived 2,000 miles apart, we didn’t think twice about the distance; we just made it work. Things fell into place easily and beautifully. It was a busy start-traveling all over the country to see each other but it’s been an amazing ride! We are constantly amazed how quickly we’ve become best friends and are beyond excited about our future. Let the journey continue!

Patrick and I knew early on that we would get married. Little did I know how quickly it would happen. We visited Ohio in September to celebrate a wedding and for Patrick to meet the fam. Patrick surprised me the day of our family picnic by popping the question at my parent’s house. I don’t take surprises well and freaked out when he got down on one knee. In all the scenarios he played over in his mind for this moment, my reaction was never anything he had anticipated. Fortunately, it calmed his nerves and made him laugh. Now it's a funny story to tell and we will continue to laugh about it for years. And obviously I said yes. ❤️
