Jessica and Michelle’s story began during the pandemic, when the world was shut down and social connection was suddenly harder to find. Both of them were part of a local meetup group that shifted from in-person gatherings to daily online happy hours on Zoom. These virtual meetups brought together 40 to 50 women each evening, laughing, venting, and keeping each other company through the uncertainty of lockdowns. In the middle of all those little squares on the screen, Jessica and Michelle noticed each other. They started exchanging private messages during the happy hours. It wasn’t long before they decided to meet in person. By that point, the group had cautiously moved into socially distanced park meetups. On the day Jessica and Michelle had agreed to finally sit down and talk, nerves got the best of Jessica. Instead of joining Michelle, she bolted, choosing to run off with her friend’s dog rather than face her jitters. Michelle, understandably, was left puzzled by the sudden disappearing act. But fate wasn’t about to let things end there. They gave it another try, setting up a second chance to talk at the park. This time, Jessica followed through, and the two of them spent hours in easy conversation. Soon after, they planned their first real dinner date, and from that moment on, everything just seemed to click into place. Amid all the heaviness of the pandemic, their connection became a bright spot, something joyful and grounding they could both hold onto. Out of such a difficult time, something truly wonderful began. <3 -------- La historia de Jessica y Michelle comenzó durante la pandemia, cuando el mundo se detuvo y las conexiones sociales se volvieron más difíciles de encontrar. Ambas formaban parte de un grupo local de encuentros que, ante el confinamiento, pasó de reuniones presenciales a felices horas virtuales diarias por Zoom. Cada tarde, entre 40 y 50 mujeres se reunían en esas videollamadas para reír, desahogarse y acompañarse mutuamente en medio de la incertidumbre del encierro. En medio de todos esos pequeños recuadros en la pantalla, Jessica y Michelle se notaron. Comenzaron a enviarse mensajes privados durante las reuniones, y no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que decidieran conocerse en persona. Para entonces, el grupo había empezado a organizar encuentros al aire libre, manteniendo la distancia social en los parques. El día en que Jessica y Michelle acordaron finalmente sentarse a hablar, los nervios se apoderaron de Jessica. En lugar de unirse a Michelle, salió corriendo… ¡llevándose al perro de su amiga para escapar de los nervios! Michelle, comprensiblemente, quedó bastante confundida por aquella repentina desaparición. Pero el destino no iba a dejar que la historia terminara así. Decidieron intentarlo de nuevo y se reunieron otra vez en el parque. Esta vez, Jessica se quedó, y las dos pasaron horas conversando con total naturalidad. Poco después planearon su primera cena oficial, y desde ese momento todo pareció encajar perfectamente. En medio de la dureza de la pandemia, su conexión se convirtió en un rayo de luz: algo alegre, genuino y esperanzador a lo que ambas pudieron aferrarse. De un tiempo tan difícil, nació algo verdaderamente maravilloso. ❤️
