Less than an hour from our venue and only about 30-40 minutes outside downtown Denver, Boulder makes a great day trip! There’s some fun breweries to check out (our favorites are Avery Brewing and Sanitas Brewing), cool shops on Pearl Street, and great hiking! There are some great trails at Chautauqua Park and if you’re up for a challenge, you can try the Royal Arch trail. The NCAR Mesa Laboratory offers some easier trails with great views and an awesome visitor’s center. If you want to visit a state park while you’re there, we recommend Eldorado Canyon State Park!
Located right outside of Boulder, Louisville is our favorite weekend trip. We like to spend time in downtown Louisville visiting breweries like Crystal Springs Brewing Company and 12 Degree Brewing. We often stop for dinner at Waterloo (highly recommend the Grilled Avocado) and then hang out at our favorite arcade bar, Tilt. If you visit Louisville, you’ll be super close to hiking trails in Boulder and you can even pop into Lafayette to check out a wonderful local restaurant called “Community Supper Club.”
Fort Collins is going to be a bit more of a drive, over an hour north of Denver and almost an hour and a half away from our venue, but definitely worth the drive! If you’re into breweries, you have to check out New Belgium Brewing and Odell Brewing Company. Both are huge spaces with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the Colorado sun! While there are plenty of parks, biking trails, disc golf courses, and hiking spots to enjoy, the beer and brunch opportunities are a big hit!
Winter Park is about 70 miles west of our venue. Don’t let the name fool you- Winter Park has plenty of amazing summertime activities to offer! There’s a ton of hiking and biking opportunities, as well as plenty of cute local shops, restaurants, and bars. There’s a winery, an amazing distillery called Idlewild Spirits, and some great breweries. If you feel like making the drive, you can visit Hot Sulphur Springs, another 30 miles west from Winter Park. To get to Winter Park, you will need to drive up a mountain! If you don’t have experience with mountain driving, this might be a bit scary so proceed with caution!
Colorado Springs is about an hour south of our venue! While you’re there, check out Garden of the Gods for some amazing trails. If you want to really challenge yourself, you can try the Manitou Incline, but this is definitely something you’ll want to train for (and bring lots of water to!). To be clear, neither of us have ever braved the Manitou Incline. But we did try all of the mineral spring water fountains in Manitou Springs, a small town right outside Colorado Springs, which we highly recommend trying! You can find the self guided tour of all the natural fountains on ManitouSprings.org
Morrison is right nextdoor to Littleton! It’s only 15 minutes outside of our venue and there’s a lot to check out. If you’re into live music, checking out Red Rocks Amphitheatre is always a great option. If you’re staying for a long weekend, you might even be able to catch a concert, a movie, or even some morning yoga. But if you can’t attend a show, it’s still a great place to check out and there are trails to walk around. There’s also some other really cool activities, like Dinosaur Ridge, Bear Creek Lake Park, and Mount Falcon Park. Be sure to research any of the places before you go, as some will have admission fees.
And of course, we won’t be too far outside of Colorado’s capital city, Denver! You can catch a train from the Littleton/ Mineral Station to downtown Denver. The Littleton station is just 1.5 miles away from our venue! You can hop on the D-line and get off at the Theater District or take it to the next stop, 16th and Stout, which will give you access to the free “Mall Ride” bus that drives around Downtown Denver. Denver is famous for its breweries and there will be a ton to check out along the D-Line route! If you buy a day pass for the train, you’ll also be able to hop on different buses and different trains to explore. If you need any help or recommendations, reach out to either of us!
