Ibra and Jessi both moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to attend Grace Christian University in the fall of 2023. While Jessi caught the attention of Ibra fairly quickly, she was unaware. Their friendship grew while hanging out with their mutual friends. They began officially dating after Ibra visited her family for Thanksgiving in the fall of 2024. Ibra proposed December 17, 2025, in British Columbia, Canada.
