SFO is about a 2.5–3 hour drive to Penn Valley/Lake Wildwood and offers the widest range of airlines, routes, and pricing. Though the drive is longer, it’s straightforward and takes you through parts of the Bay Area before heading into the foothills.

Reno–Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is another option for guests traveling to Penn Valley/Lake Wildwood. This might be the better option for those who want to explore Tahoe before driving down for the wedding. Located about 1 hour and 45 minutes away, RNO is a smaller and easy-to-navigate airport with quick access to rental cars. RNO offers fewer flight options than Sacramento or San Francisco.
