If you know us, you know we're both extremely outgoing! Now imagine we're each out on the town--he for a bachelor party and she for a bachelorette--in Ocean City, MD ready to make some memories and perhaps a few new friends. Well it just so happens that the bride and groom of each of those parties was from Stamford, CT--coincidence or fate? Fast forward 7 months later with trips to Cape May, NJ, Lake George, NY and Boca Raton, FL we knew by Christmas Eve that our new found friendship had been built on adventure, laughter and love--it was meant to be.
The year is 2020 and our couple has been forced to shelter in place over the last 6-months! The first 5-months this was done in a 1-bedroom apartment in downtown Stamford while they both worked from home--he as an auditor for Ernst & Young and she as an HR professional with HEINEKEN--needless to say they became closer than ever. Presented with an opportunity to move to a new home, courtesy of Papa Horn [Doug] our couple can spread out but begin to see less of each other throughout the day, given their new expanded home office setup. This means weekends are now spent together as much as possible. As the Summer of 2020 is drawing to an end our groom-to-be suggests a picnic in the park--strange you say? Not for this couple who enjoyed walking to the many parks in Stamford with chicken cutlet on a wedge and a beer or two. So they head to Cos Cob Park and pick a nice grassy knoll overlooking the Long Island Sound, as Jess begins to inhale her sandwich, oblivious to what is about to happen next. Bobby stands up surveying the scene and says, "Hey, come look at this." Our bride stands up assuming there is a person or boat that deserves their attention near the horizon, and in turning around Bobby has gotten down on one knee and begins to ask the most important question of his life. Shock, smiles and shaking ensued with many tears of joy, all captured by our groom's brother who had successfully hidden all 6'3" of himself. The day culminated in a surprise engagement party hosted by the incredible UP [Uncle Pete] with close friends and family there to toast to the elated couple! Let's keep the laughter and party going together on August 7, 2021 .
