Our Story
We met at Southwestern University in 2019—Jess was a freshman, Aidan a sophomore. Jess saw Aidan at a party and thought he was cute, so he became her campus crush. In spring 2020, best man and bridesmaid, Nick and Wren Doxey wanted to set Jess up with a lacrosse player. She suggested Aidan—and, lucky for her, he was interested.
Wren hosted a very tiny, and crowded dorm room party for the purpose of setting them up. With all eyes on them, it was pretty awkward. They spent the night having those classic first conversations, but it was easy. At one point, during a game of "Guess That Song," Aidan got so excited he hit a lightbulb and shattered it. Luckily it didn't bother Jess!
Not long after, COVID hit. They talked long-distance for a month before reuniting in Georgetown—where Aidan asked Jess to be his girlfriend. The first five months were spent on Facetime and through letters. Somehow, we just knew it was something special. And from there the rest is history!
