When Rigel walked into McDonalds to comfort a friend over a breakup, he never imagined he would meet the love of his life. Little did he know that Jessamyn would be working the register, and that she would stick in his head all night. The next night, he returned with his friend and sat around talking until Jessamyn was off work. Jessamyn, remembering the handsome man from the night before who had inquired about her name while leaning confidently on the counter, decided to sit at the table next to him while she awaited her ride. She hoped he would say something to her, and he did! They talked for a moment, contacts were exchanged, and they spent the rest of the night glued to their phones. From their first date at Crane's Roost where they dove right into the deep topics, to Daytona beach trips and late nights watching cars race, passion grew quickly between them. It wasn't long before Rigel graduated from UCF and the two of them were off to St. Petersburg together. Their adventure had begun, and they had no idea how far it would take them. From St. Petersburg to Michigan, Jessamyn and Rigel made every move in step. Love grew with every day and every new memory. After years of loving each other, Jessamyn and Rigel discovered that they were pregnant. Soon after they welcomed their first child, a son named Ryder, into their lives. Their hearts grew, and for over a year this was their family, until they became pregnant with their second child. It was at this time, while 7 months pregnant, that the couple decided to relocate their family to Colorado. So, once again, they packed up their things and started a new adventure! Soon after settling into their life in Colorado, they welcomed their daughter, Catalina. Ryder became a big brother, and an amazing one at that. The nights were long, and the days were hard, but the couple pushed through this exhausting period of their lives together. Hearts full and hands fuller, the family went on adventures to the mountains and other exciting places. The weekend before the 4th of July in 2022, Rigel took Jessamyn and the kids on a surprise trip to San Francisco, California. For 5 days, the family explored the city and all it had to offer. Beaches, docks, amazing food, chocolates, gardens, and more, all for their enjoyment. A beautiful trip full of memories that will last a lifetime. On July 4th, 2022, Rigel took Jessamyn to a park on the bay, just across from North Beach in San Francisco. The city was to be holding a fireworks show, and he hoped they could see them from just across the water. As they walked the trails, the sun began to set. Noticing a small area just at the edge where the rocks drop to meet the sea, Rigel pulled Jessamyn aside. There, by the sea, Rigel got down on one knee and spoke the most beautiful words as he held out a ring and asked Jessamyn to marry him. Without hesitation, Jessamyn said yes and they swept each other up in embrace. Two souls brought together by the most random of meetings. Two people who went out of their way to see each other again. Two lovers turned parents, and then fiancés, and now to become husband and wife. Two hearts became one, and now two families will be joined by that love. "Thank you to family and friends for always being there for us. Life just wouldn't be the same without all of you in it. It is through your support and love and compassion and strength that this relationship has thrived and our lives have been changed for the better. We are so excited to take you on this journey with us, and are blessed to have you here with us on such a special, once in a lifetime, occasion. We love you!" -Jessamyn and Rigel
