Seattle has a fun airport with connections to Yakima via shuttle and flight. If you choose to drive, Seattle is about two hours from Yakima. The drive takes you just north of Mount Rainier and along a few mountain lakes.

The drive from Portland to Yakima takes about three hours and is absolutely gorgeous. The drive follows the Colombia River Gorge for the first half and has great views of Mount Hood leaving Portland.
