Jessica and Nate’s love story began in July 2014 when they met while interning for the summer with the Circuit Court of Cook County. Little did they know, they went to the same law school together and were in the same graduating class. They became friends instantly and soon fell in love. They learned that they grew up just miles from each other — Nate in Western Springs and Jessica in LaGrange Park. They would have even graduated in the same year from the same high school had Jessica’s family not moved to Delta, Colorado when she was 14. Jessica returned to Chicago to live with her grandmother while attending law school and now they’re here, about to get married!
For Thanksgiving in 2016, Nate and Jessica took a road trip to Colorado. On Thanksgiving, Nate wore a puffer vest all day in the house that was fairly warm from the cooking. After the meal, Nate asked Jessica to go on a drive. She reluctantly agreed (she didn’t want to go because she was sad to leave her family the next day). Off they went. Into the sunset Nate drove Jessica to her favorite spot in her hometown — a 360 degree view of the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. It was gorgeous. Nate wanted to get out of the car and Jessica was being a pill and said to him, “What? Are you going to propose?” Yes. He was. And she couldn’t believe it. He took his grandmother’s ring out of the pocket of the vest and asked Jessica to marry him. Jessica said yes and cried so many happy tears. Then they got to go home and celebrate with Jessica’s family before the long drive back to Illinois. It was magical and one of the best days of their lives. They are so excited to share another ‘best day of their lives’ with you!
