We're getting married!

Mariah and Gerardo’s story began during their junior year of high school in English class. Mariah sat in front of Gerardo, and one day she turned around and asked for his Snapchat — a bold move that clearly paid off. What started as a simple snap quickly turned into something much more, and since March 2016 the two have talked every single day (yes, every single day). After high school, the couple took on a little distance when Mariah moved an hour away to attend University of California, Merced while Gerardo stayed closer to home and attended California State University, Fresno. Between classes, studying, and plenty of drives back and forth, they continued falling in love — filling their time with trips, concerts, and making memories together. As the years went on, life started to look a little more “grown up.” Gerardo began his career as an EMT while Mariah headed into nursing school. But through all the busy schedules, they never stopped being each other’s biggest supporters. Then in August 2024, Gerardo pulled off the ultimate surprise. During a trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea along the stunning 17-Mile Drive, he proposed at the famous Lone Cypress with both of their families there to celebrate. Between the ocean views, happy tears, and a very enthusiastic “yes,” it was the perfect start to their next chapter. And now, after nearly a decade together that all started with a Snapchat request, they’re so excited to celebrate their forever with the people they love most. 💍✨
