A young guy followed me on Instagram following the Miss Lakewood Pageant in spring of 2014. I noticed my new profound follower liking all of my posts. I didn't think much of it. Fast forward to the beginning of May and I decided to go to Tokyo Express in Clinton, NC after cheerleading practice. When I returned home after getting my takeout my sister also wanted a steak bowl, so back to Tokyo I went. Once my dad got off and heard that we had went to Tokyo, he also wanted to eat supper there. So to Tokyo I went for the third time that day. I was fixing my white sauce when the door opened and low and behold it was Aydan, the cute guy from my Instagram. I rushed out of the door and when I say rushed, I mean it! I immediately got in my car and looked at his Instagram. It didn't take me long to know I wanted to message him, so I did. The message that started it all read "Hey, are you in Tokyo Express right now?" Ever since that day, we have not stopped texting and have grown closer each day. He is my person in life and gets me like no other. He stands beside me on my good days and holds me up on my bad ones. I cannot wait to marry the boy from Tokyo Express when we were just Juniors in high school. As this fall is quickly approaching, I am more and more excited to meet Aydan at the end of the isle to become his wife. P.S. Three times really is a charm
One afternoon after picking Ellington up from dance, we were craving Tokyo Express. While walking up to the door at Tokyo Express, I see a good looking blonde girl through the window, I remember thinking "oh snap, that's the girl I've been following on Instagram." Before walking through the door I began to think "I'm going to walk up, start a casual conversation with her, and let it go from there." I straightened my hat, sucked in my gut, and poked out my chest as I walked in the door. She sees me and starts rushing out, right before I could say anything my mind went blank as she walked out of the door. Before I could even order my food, she messaged me on Instagram asking if that was me. After a few weeks, of messaging back and forth, I finally asked Jerrica on a date to the movies. So we met in Mount Olive and I drove her to the theater in Goldsboro. The movie we attended, not watched, was a random X-Men movie. Let's face, we had no idea what happened in that movie at all. (FYI, don't attend a 3D movie on a first date, the 3D glasses tend make for an awkward first move/kiss.) When the movie ended, I drove her back to Mount Olive and I suddenly realized that I had lost my wallet. I began freaking out and she calmed me down saying that we could just go back to the theater and look. I then had to tell her that I didn't have enough gas to drive back to Goldsboro and all my money was in my wallet. (Also not a good idea to have to borrow $20 from a girl on a first date.) We got back to the theater and my wallet was still there but I thought I blew it with Jerrica after an awkward first kiss and having to borrow money. Years later, I thought that since she stayed with me through my goofiness, I would like to call her mine for good, by asking her to marry me. Before proposing, I had a whole line that I was going to say and when I got down on one knee, my mind went blank, again. I only could mutter "Well will ya?"
It was a cool Friday afternoon and we had Christmas pictures scheduled at a Christmas tree farm. When arriving to the tree farm, there were three trees left that were shorter than us. So we decided to ride around and look for an area that looked like Christmas. Aydan and my sister-in-law to be were determined to find an area. We were riding back home when we happened to come across this field filled with beautiful trees that were prettier than I could have ever imagined. We proceeded with our photoshoot and it was the most beautiful scenery. Right before we were about to leave, Ryker (Aydan's brother) asked Aydan if he could think of anymore poses and that's when it all happened. Before I knew it, the love of my life was down on one knee in front of me. Our families came running up the hill in the middle of it. To have both of our families there during this special time in our lives meant the world to us. I am so thankful he decided to include them in on this moment.
