the day we become one

We were visiting Jermaine's family in his hometown of Waco, Texas, for Christmas. We made a stop at Heritage Park for a tree lighting ceremony. There was a huge Christmas tree in the center of it. We were walking around, and stopped to look at the lights around that main tree. Then, an ornament caught my eye. When I got closer to the ornament, I saw the words "will you marry me?" written on it. I turned to tell Jermaine how romantic it was that someone proposed like that, and when I did... Jermaine was already down on one knee!! Turns out that was for ME! My heart melted.. He had stopped by Heritage Park earlier that day, put the ornament on the tree, and planned all previous events leading up to Heritage Park. I am so lucky I get to spend the rest of my life with Jermaine.. he is the love of my life.

I had the ring and I was thinking of the perfect time to give it to her. We were in my home town of Waco, Texas. They were having a tree lighting ceremony one night. Angelia really wanted to see the trees, so there would be no better time than the present (no pun intended). I went to my Aunt Lisa's house because we were staying with my Mom while we were on vacation. While there, I purchased a large ornament and wrote her name on it and put it on the tree downtown ahead of time. Angelia and I walked around town and saw the trees they had lit up. Then we went to the biggest one. As we were walking around the tree, I pointed out that one of the ornaments had her name on it. I said "look your name is on it, turn it around". When she turned the ornament around, it said "Will you marry me" on it. When she turned around, I tried my best to choke back the tears as I asked her if she would marry me. SHE SAID YES! I had never felt so excited and nervous in one day. It was a rollercoaster of a day that culminated in me professing my love to the love of my life to say the one thing that every guy wants to say and every woman wants to hear- will you marry me. She is the love of my life. She is the only person I want to do this with. I love Angelia so much
