Well, first and foremost... we have to thank Tinder. In February 2017, Zach and Jerika were scrolling along when they matched with one another. It happened to be Valentines Day and Zach suggested the two go get tacos and margaritas. Jerika thought "Wow what a perfect human" based purely on his Tinder profile and first date suggestions. Upon meeting on that momentous evening at El Jardin and talking for hours, it was clear that the night wasn't ending any time soon. After dinner, the pair walked up Clark Street popping in and out of places, simply so their time together would not end. Once they said goodnight and went their separate ways, the two knew there was something special between them. Zach and Jerika continued to see each other but life eventually got in the way. Although Zach had to move back home to Indianapolis, they kept in touch and saw each other when they could over the years to follow. After a few years apart, Jerika slid into Zach's DM's to which he responded. Fast forward to reuniting on St. Patricks Day 2023, to a couple Blink 182 concerts, a few weddings as each others dates and several trips between Indianapolis and Chicago, it was clear that now it was finally their time to give their relationship a real shot. Zach moved to Chicago and the rest is history! To Jerika's complete surprise, in June Zach proposed to her in front of their family, friends and loved ones. Zach and Jerika are excited for the next chapters of their lives that they get to do together as a married couple, along side their dog-child, Charlie.
