Downtown State College
We recommend going downtown to check out the boutique shopping, local coffee shops, and some of our favorite restaurants and bars. It’s a beautiful 10-minute walk from the Nittany Lion Inn through Penn State’s campus, making it a perfect way to take in the sights on your way into town!
Penn State Berkey Creamery
We highly recommend a visit to the Penn State Berkey Creamery—famous for its delicious ice cream. Don’t miss out on their iconic flavors like "Peachy Paterno" while you’re in town!
Mount Nittany Trailhead
We love hiking Mount Nittany for its beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere! The trailhead is just a short drive from downtown State College, and the climb to the overlook offers views of the Penn State campus and Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lion Shrine
The Nittany Lion Shrine is just a quick walk from the Nittany Lion Inn and is one of our favorite photo spots on campus. It's a classic Penn State landmark and a fun stop if you’re exploring nearby!
Voodoo Brewing Company - State College Pub
Voodoo Brewing is a great spot to hang out with friends—great beer, good food, and a super laid-back vibe right by the creek. Try their Hazy IPA!
Penn State Golf Courses
If you’re looking to spend some time outdoors, we highly recommend the Penn State Golf Courses. Whether you're an experienced golfer or just looking to enjoy the beautiful scenery, it's a great way to relax and take in the views of campus and the surrounding mountains.
The Waffle Shop
The Waffle Shop is a classic State College staple—we love going there for a big, delicious breakfast (the omelettes and crispy home fries are our favorites).

One of our favorite breakfast spots in State College, Irving’s is perfect for a yummy breakfast sandwich - it's right downtown and great for a quick bite!
Elixr Coffee Roasters
We love Elixr for its cozy vibe and great coffee—it's our go-to for a delicious cappuccino or latte (the seasonal drinks are always fun to try). Plus, the pastries from The Cakeshop are great too!
