We were not ready to enter and have a romantic relationship but the Lord, in His glory and mysterious ways, led us to one another.” - Jeric & Shiela Then their story begins… Once upon a time, on a not-so-far-away island and in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, there was a maiden named Shiela. During that time, together with her friend, they talked about the uncertainty of things. How can the pandemic situation be the end of it all but it can be also an opportunity to invest in themselves and be insured. After all, each individual is responsible for their well-being. Shiela asked their other friend and colleague if she knew someone who knew and dealt with investment and insurance. And thankfully, her friend knows someone! Little did she know that she’d meet the person who would forever alter her life. And that’s when the Lord opened the door for Jeric to enter into Shiela’s life. It was August 2020. They scheduled a virtual meeting They processed the application. And they shared their experiences in life, love, and misadventures. Then came December 2020. Jeric decided to take the risk of exploring Bantayan Island, the island where Shiela lives. It was a challenging time because the borders were strict due to the Pandemic. But he came through. He then tried to set a face-to-face appointment with Shiela and her friends as a way of showing courtesy and seriousness as their Financial Advisor. The night before they met, Jeric was attending “Simbang Gabi”. He was praying intently, eyes closed and when he opened them, he saw a glimmer from the corner of his eyes and when he suddenly looked up, he saw a luminous star that radiated a stunning bright light. And in that moment, Jeric was thinking that perhaps it was a SIGN that the Lord would grant one of his prayers. Then the time for the dinner with Shiela and her friend came. It was attraction at first sight. Jeric was awe-struck by Shiela’s beauty and wittiness. The dinner conversation was not only serious but also valuable. They talked about a lot of things. Then all of a sudden, Shiela’s friend invited both Jeric and Shiela to go on a trip- a vacation trip around South of Cebu. Jeric saw that as an opportunity to know more about the maiden who made his heart alive again. They went on the trip and it was indeed one of the momentous trips of their lives because before their trip ended, Jeric professed his feelings and intentions towards Shiela. He gave her a love letter with a twist, a twist intended ONLY for Shiela (*wink wink). Through that letter, he had a sweet opportunity to extend his efforts and care towards her. The attraction became LOVE. Just like any other insurance application's important steps, one must know their client. And in this case, “Know Your Manliligaw”. The courting has undergone a series of steps. After 5 months, Shiela has approved Jeric’s love application as being her official boyfriend. And up until now and for a lifetime, he has proved and will prove that he is persistent and consistent in showing his pure intention and love towards her. Jeric realized something the night before they met, that one of his prayers was answered which was, “Lord, if naa man diri akoa forever, please tagae ko ug sign and ikaw na bahala if right time na jud na makauyab ko.” The luminous star was indeed a sign. Jeric did not just find a girlfriend but also a WIFE. Life is full of uncertainties, the pandemic that brought lots of heartaches to some also served as a divine intervention to a man and a woman to meet. The Lord indeed made it happen- Isaiah 60:22 From this momentous day forward, the story of Shiela and Jeric will enter a sequel of marriage…
