Shane was at Autumn Ridge to meet someone else, Jerica was handing out flyers for a bible study. Neither of us were really seeking a relationship, but God had more in store for us. Through our bible study and group events, we seemed to always find ourselves together. Jerica was a little (ok a lot) slower to catch on, but after a few not-so-coy hints from Shane, she started to realize they were more than just friends.

After Shane had moved back to The Land of Winter (Minnesota), we took a day trip up to the cities to Minnehaha Falls. After Jerica had made Shane crawl through the frozen waterfall (getting all sorts of wet and dirty), we took a walk through the park on the trails. We came upon a clearing that overlooked the creek and Jerica walked into it to get a better look at the view. Shane came up behind her, put his arms around her, and then turned her around. As soon as he started talking she finally caught on to what the day was really about.
