We're Getting Married!

We met 4th of July weekend 2014 at church through Jay’s cousin and his wife , my childhood friend. We hit it off immediately and Less than 2 months later, we were officially dating. A little less than a year into our relationship, Jay was diagnosed with terminal lung disease in 2015 & given a 2 yr life expectancy. Love story, future plans…paused as we were unsure we even had a future. After being denied 3 times, he was finally approved for a bilateral lung transplant in 2020 (at the height of the pandemic) with his mom and I serving as his caregivers. He recovered and we began rebuilding…. Love story unpaused. Now hopeful for the future and incredibly thankful, we begin planning our lives together. Jay surprised me with a beautiful proposal among family and friends 4th of July weekend 2023 and now here we are.
