Like everyone else these days, Shannon and Jeremy met on the internet. They went on a quick coffee date in 2014 and liked each other, but little things got in the way and they never had their second date. Somehow they become Facebook friends. Over the next year and a half they bumped into each other online a few times. Each time, Jeremy suggested they should go on a second date. Each time, Shannon suggested they should not. In January of 2016, Jeremy came home to find police all over his neighborhood and helicopters circling overhead. He sent a message to Shannon on Facebook, because he knew she lived nearby and might know what was going on. She didn't, but they struck up a conversation, sharing sensationalist details as they learned them through the night about a robbery at a neighborhood grocery. By the end of the night, Jeremy had asked Shannon to dinner for the following evening. He convinced himself this was just a friendly meetup and not a date, but the sparks flew as soon as they sat down together. It was definitely a date. Sometimes the best things in life just fall right in your lap. Then they skitter away, and it takes you 18 months to grab a hold of them again. When you finally do, you don't let go.
Randall is Jeremy's middle name. Jeremy's maternal grandmother was one of three sisters. Before marrying, their last name was Randall, and since they had no brothers to carry on the family name, it died out when the last of the sisters passed. Jeremy was given Randall as a middle name, and when he was young he promised his mother that if he ever had a child, he would find a way to pass on the Randall family name and keep it alive. Jeremy and Shannon have decided to take the Randall family name when they get married and bring it back to life. After October 27, 2017, they will be known as Jeremy and Shannon Randall.
