We had mutual friends set us up (Thanks Trystan and Emma). They were insistent we needed to go on this blind date. So eventually we did. We gave the whole "dating" thing a shot and it didn't work out. Flash forwards six months and we reconnected, at Trystan and Emma's wedding no less. Well really what happened is Jeremy stepped on Paityn's foot, made her bleed, nursed her wounds and asked her to dance in the kitchen to the song Tennessee Whiskey. From that moment on we were stuck together like glue.
Jeremy took Paityn on a trip to the Oregon Coast, where we shopped and ate delicious food and adventured around the towns. Our first day there was a total disaster, there was a very last second cancellation of the airbnb which resulted in driving to a new location two hours away. Then we were booked in an already occupied room and then double charged for this room, it was mess of a day. Jeremy was inwardly (and outwardly) freaking out. Paityn was confused as to why he was so panicky. The following day was perfect, by the late afternoon Jeremy wanted to go to the beach. Mind you the wind was blowing about 100mph. But to the beach we went. Paityn insisted on wearing her bright yellow chicken rainboots, which Jeremy tried to talk her out of multiple times, again much to Paityn's confusion. We walked hand in hand being pushed about by the wild wind. Paityn thought it would be fun to spin around like a total dork and prance around like a kid in a candy store. Well, one of her little spins resulted in turning around to Jeremy down on one knee. The exact words out of Paityn's mouth were, "holy crap!" he then very sweetly asked Paityn to be his wife. Which is why you are all here, because now we are getting married!!!! Suddenly all the pieces came together, Jeremy's panic over all the changed plans, his insistence on going to the beach, his insistence on Paityn changing her shoes, (he apparently thought she wouldn't want photos of her in the chicken boots, he was wrong.) He even came prepared with Paityn's favorite bottle of wine in celebration. We went out to a fancy dinner that night and got to watch the seals on the pier. It was the perfect day.
