FAQs

Question

What is #Amplwortz?

Answer

Amplwortz (our pen-name) is the amalgamation of chAMPLin and WORTZel. It represents not only the ample amount of warts we have on our hands and feet, but also our shared love, which is also ample :) It also sounds noble... we think.

Question

Why Rhode Island?

Answer

This area will always be special to us as it is where we first met. Also, perfectly located between our families in Maine and Pennsylvania, we meet right in the middle. The smallest state, coffee milk, 400 miles of coastline, the state bird is a chicken, motto: "Hope", the Ocean State!

Question

Should I come for the full weekend?

Answer

We will be hanging out in RI from Thursday through Monday, you are welcome to come early or stay to visit with us! There will be group events during the day on Friday and Sunday that all are welcome to attend. However, feel free to come just for the ceremony if you can't come for longer!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on the website by March 1st 2022 so we can finalize the food and seating for everyone coming to the ceremony & reception! We understand that travel plans may change with the uncertainty of travel restrictions and safety- so this will all be flexible, but just make the best guess that you can! The Cliff Walk (Friday) and Brunch (Sunday) events are open to all and feel free to come even if you don't RSVP.

Question

Driving to the venue?

Answer

There is lots of parking at the Audubon center. The venue is about 20minutes from Providence so be sure to plan carpooling with your group to the event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please only bring the people that your invite is addressed to- the venue is small so we want to assure everyone can fit!

Question

What should I wear to the ceremony?

Answer

We only want you to feel comfortable in what you are wearing! Please see the schedule of events tab for suggested outfits for the events throughout the weekend- of course, these are only suggestions so please come as you would like!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will start the ceremony right at 5pm, so please arrive 15mins before 5pm to make sure you are seated and ready!

Question

What about dietary restrictions?

Answer

There will be vegetarian options at all meals. We will also have vegan options for main courses and dessert! Please let us know if you have other dietary restrictions.

Question

What about the possible COVID variants and safety precautions?

Answer

We will be paying close attention to the travel, event size, and health safety recommendations by the CDC. We may need to make the decision to wear masks at the event or change the size of the gathering last minute. We will stay in touch about these considerations and think of ways to include you all in the weekend (even if it's not one big event). Please see our COVID Prevention Strategy here: https://tinyurl.com/2p9bfmur

Question

Vaccination requirement?

Answer

In compliance with the requirements of our venue, we are asking that all attendees please be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. Please reach out to us if you want to talk about how to assure your safety or any concerns. We appreciate your understanding of this as we want to make this event as safe as possible. Question

What is a Chuppah and what did the insert in the save-the-date say?

Answer

In preparation for Lena and Jeremy's wedding, we are making a Chuppah. This is a cloth canopy (ours will be a quilt) that the couple stands under as they say their wedding vows. We are incorporating comments, well wishes, and advice to the couple on the Chuppah. If you would like to include a note (under 20 words), please email Sandy Wortzel at rwortzel@aol.com. Please send these notes by March 1st, 2022.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

There is a registry link/tab on this website. However, do not feel any pressure to get us anything! We also really enjoy gifts not on the Registry- like cards, activities, or handmade things :) Please send all gifts to Jeremy's parents, Rick and Sandy Wortzel at 7 West Averstone Dr. Washington Crossing, PA 18977 as Jeremy and Lena move to their next adventure.

Question

How to contact us?

Answer

We love you and can't wait to see you all there! If anything comes up before the wedding or as you are planning your visit, please reach out to Jeremy and Lena through email (jdwortzel@gmail.com or lena.champlin@alumni.brown.edu). For "Day-Of" concerns please contact the Maid of Honor Nikki Champlin at 207-400-6881.
