Our first date was on the lucky 11/11—make a wish—and from the very beginning, it felt like something special was unfolding. We met at Solace Outpost, and somewhere between drinks and laughter, we discovered we both love Dispatch. That moment felt like more than a coincidence—it was a spark, a sign that we were in sync in the best possible way. From then on, it was clear we were meant to be.
We were both relieved to find out no one had lied on their dating profile about loving the outdoors—and even though our versions of “outdoor adventure” look a little different (Ilana hiking winding trails and Jeremy flying down them on a mountain bike), it’s become one of our favorite things to do separately but together. After our own kinds of exploration, we always find a cozy winery or brewery to meet up at, trade stories, and toast to another day well spent outside.
All week, Jeremy kept saying they were going to their favorite winery on Valentine’s Day, but he made it very clear it wasn’t because it was Valentine’s Day—he insisted it was just the first nice day in a while. As they arrived, Ilana was walking a little ahead when Jeremy called out, “Remember how I said we’re not here because it’s Valentine’s Day…” and before she could roll her eyes and say, “I get it! It’s a nice day!”—she turned around to find him on one knee.
