She said YES!

One September morning in 2012, Carolina was scrolling through the handsome guys her online dating app presented to her. When she saw Jeremy's profile, she thought, "He seems like a uncomplicated, even-tempered, and patient guy." With her positive, albeit inaccurate, notions she sent him a "wink" and after a few emails, they had their first date at Jack & Rose in Washington D.C. Jeremy arrived a few minutes early to Jack & Rose. Carolina, on the other hand, was an hour late. To her defense, this was Carolina's first online-initiated date and was also relying on a DC cab, so she can't be entirely blamed. Meanwhile, Jeremy's on his second IPA and getting frequent text updates from Carolina. When she finally arrived, she was warmly-received and they had a wonderful time. The night ended with Jeremy driving her home, and no, not a single kiss. Jeremy's mom raised him right. Their second date was extended over 6 hours by Hurricane Sandy as it grazed the Washington area. High winds and rain forced them inside The Diner near Adams/Morgan into evening hours, where they took advantage of the opportunity to get to know one another. On the third date, Jeremy decided to prepare a nice dinner at home. Excited and eager to watch him cook, Carolina sat on the kitchen counter and watched as he meticulously and nervously followed the recipe. The end result? “It was edible”, per Carolina. From that point forward, it was clear who’s more effective in the kitchen. After dating for over a year, Carolina and Jeremy purchased their first home in Clarksburg, MD where Carolina’s daughter Andrea joined them from El Salvador. With Andrea’s help, Jeremy surprised Carolina on her birthday and put a ring on it. A short time later, they left Maryland and purchased their second, and current, home in Richmond, VA.
