Our Story
Jeremy and Alexa’s story began in New York City. When they were both students at Columbia, Jeremy’s close friends, Zoe, Steph, Jon, and Toib, set him up with Alexa. For their first date, Alexa and Jeremy met for coffee at the Hungarian Pastry Shop on the Upper West Side. They spent hours walking around campus and meandering through the gardens of St. John the Divine.
After three dates, the COVID-19 lockdown brought their time together in New York to an abrupt pause. When Columbia sent its students home, Alexa returned to her hometown of Atlanta, and Jeremy drove home to Rhode Island. Over the next five months, they wrote letters to one another and arranged FaceTime dates, getting to know each other from hundreds of miles apart.
Their fourth in-person date came that summer, when Alexa flew to Rhode Island to meet Jeremy’s family and childhood friends. By the time they returned to campus that fall, they both knew they had found something special.
Over the next few years, as their relationship grew, New York became an important part of their story. They fell in love over long study sessions in Butler Library, visits to the Whitney, picnics in Central Park, grocery runs to West Side Market, and afternoons spent dog-spotting in Madison Square Park. In December 2025, Jeremy proposed in one of their favorite study spots, Butler Library. Afterward, they celebrated with carrot cake at the Hungarian Pastry Shop, where they had their first date.
Alexa and Jeremy are so excited to celebrate their marriage with their closest friends and family in the city where it all began!
