It was May 5, 2015. Erica was out with friends celebrating Cinco de Mayo and watching the Blackhawks game at a bar in Wicker Park. Jeremy was out with friends watching the Blackhawks game with friends at a different bar in Wicker Park. Before the third period, Erica and her friends decided to meet up with her friend Megan's friend Alex at Lottie's, who Jeremy was with. After a rousing third period and a Blackhawks W, the group celebrated with drinks and Jeremy and Erica started talking. They kept talking and a month later, made it official at Billy Goat after watching the Blackhawks win on June 10. PS The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup that year!

Jeremy proposed on June 14, 2019, Erica's birthday. That afternoon Jeremy led Erica to the rooftop of their apartment where he had champagne and flowers waiting. He sabered open the bottle of champagne and got down on one knee. Erica said YES! They celebrated the next day with family and friends at a birthday/engagement party.
