It all started on Easter weekend in 2022, when Cora was visiting Ottawa with her good friend Bronwyn. One night out brought us to the Crazy Horse, where we met on the dance floor and exchanged numbers by the end of the night. As it turned out, Jeremy lived near Bronwyn, so he joined the Uber ride home—giving us a little more time to keep talking. After that weekend, Cora returned to school in Kingston, about two hours from Ottawa. Just a couple of weeks later, she was heading back to North Carolina for the summer. Wanting to see each other again, we squeezed in a first date before she left and stayed in touch after that. Phone calls turned into daily FaceTimes, and visits back and forth soon followed. What started as a chance meeting on a dance floor turned into something lasting, and we’ve been building our life together ever since.
