The wedding ceremony and reception will be held at Granite Ridge Estate in Norway Maine.
"Black Tie...ish" We’re getting married in the Maine woods, but there's no reason for flannel. Think formal, elevated, and just extra enough to upstage the bride (because there isn't one). Dark, moody colors—black, deep jewel tones, rich textures and metallics—are the vibe. Tuxedos? Not required, by why not!? Velvet, long gowns, capes, embroidery, beading, statement accessories, crowns, costume jewelry, dramatic makeup... If you’re questioning whether it’s too much, it’s probably just right. We hope you have fun with it—the night will be chic, whimsical, and a little indulgent—so dress accordingly! All that said, the terrain around the barn is not paved, so we suggest a sturdier heel or wedge for footwear, as well as something to keep you warm in the hopes that we have mild weather and are able to hold our cocktail reception outside. We know finding something to wear can be a hassle, so if you'd like some inspiration photos to guide your selections, we have a pinterest board we'd be happy to share.
As long as there is appropriate weather (*fingers crossed*), the ceremony and cocktail hour will be hosted outdoors. The reception will take place indoors in a climate-controlled, modern barn. If we're met with cold or windy weather, the cocktail reception will be held in the barn, but we recommend coming with a coat, shawl, or wrap just in case!
We love it up here! We've been sneaking up north for long weekends since we first started dating. It's a special area and we're excited to share it with all of our favorite people.
While we adore your kids, this is an adults-only celebration. If taking travel time away from the rugrats feels like too much and you'd like to make a weekend trip out of things, we encourage you to find a comfy rental on AirBNB or VRBO and bring the whole family -- invite along a friend or relative to keep watch during the ceremony & reception, or let us know if you'd like some local childcare provided through our wedding coordinator. We'd be happy to see the kiddos at the welcome party on Friday night, but hope you will set aside Saturday as a night off for yourself so you can let your hair down and come celebrate with us!
We are happy to be offering an open bar for the evening for all of our guests. I am sure however, that our hardworking bartending staff would be grateful for any and all gratuity, and as there is no ATM on site, we hope you will plan accordingly and bring along some cash if you'd like to show your appreciation to the staff.
Our venue is unique and we are excited to share it with you. Due to the venue's location and limited parking, no guests are permitted to drive to the venue. This includes Ubers, taxis or other rideshare programs. We will be providing transportation via shuttles to and from the venue. To arrive at the venue, you'll need to take a shuttle. The shuttle will pick up and drop off at two locations: 19 Danforth Street lot in Norway, ME, and the Hampton Inn in Oxford ME. PICK-UP (Subject to change): 3:30pm - Hampton Inn, Oxford ME 4:00pm - 19 Danforth Street lot, Norway ME GOING HOME: Buses will depart Granite Ridge in two intervals - the first shuttle will depart the venue an hour before the reception ends (9:30ish), and the second will depart immediately following the end of the reception (10:40ish). Shuttles will return guests to the initial pick-up locations listed above. Shuttles are not handicapped-accessible, so if you do not think you can comfortably get on/off the buses or require special accommodations, please let Jeremiah or Christopher know at your earliest convenience and we will be happy to find a comfortable and easy solution. If you are staying in a rental property, please designate a driver to get you home safely from the shuttle drop-off locations as Ubers are limited in the area. Private transportation can be arranged from a drop-off location - just let Jeremiah or Christopher know if you're interested in this option.
