It is New England, so we highly recommend everyone continue to check weather right up till the week of the wedding. Temperatures can range from 70s to 90's, it can be humid or dry and rain , unfortunately is always a possibility.
Shuttle service will be provided only between the room block hotel (Holiday Inn Express, Great Barrington) and The Mount on 7/26. There will only be 1 departure from the hotel at approximately 4pm on 7/26. The shuttle will make 2 trips back to the Holiday Inn Express, Great Barrington, 1 around 9pm and one more after the event ends. Once the shuttle returns from the early bird departure the same shuttle will then be providing service between the main house at the Mount and the remote parking lot at the Mount. This will run back and forth from about 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM after which the shuttle will go on its last trip back to the Holiday Inn Express departing about 11:15 PM.
For those driving to The Mount there is plenty of parking available in the "Upper Parking Lot" , this will be clearly labeled and is the first parking lot when you drive onto the property. For those who wish to walk, it is about a quarter mile walk from the upper parking lot to the main house. There will also be shuttle service starting around 4:15pm going back and forth to the main house at The Mount. There are limited handicap parking options directly at the main house, please reach out directly to Abbey or Jeremiah to pre-arrange these spots.
Yes there is Uber and Lyft in the area, but also note that it is sometimes not available at all, so there is no guarantee there will be availability while visiting.
There are several airports to choose from, while the closest airport is Albany, NY (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away) , Albany is not always the most cost effective and many times requires connecting flights. Hartford, CT (about 1 hour and 45 minutes away) is similar to Albany, not always cost effective and hard to find direct flights. Boston, MA (about 2 hours and 30 minutes away) is the most cost effective and has the most direct flights.
While we understand many of our friends and family have children and have expressed an interest in having their children join in the wedding celebration, unfortunately we will only be able to host invited adults and their adult guests (where applicable) to our wedding celebration. We have a very strict limit on the number of attendees who can safely fit on the Mount's terrace, where the majority of the wedding celebration will take place and are contractually committed to keeping to this number. Consequently, we can only host invited adults and their adult guests (where applicable) for the wedding celebration. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to you joining us for our wedding celebration!
The wedding celebration will be occurring at a historical mansion. The primary sites include English and French gardens and the Mansion Terrace and main house. Semi-formal attire is recommended. Men: Jackets are optional but dress/collared button down shirts and slacks are recommended. Jeans are ok when paired with jacket and dress shirt. Given the potential for high temperatures in late July, linen is encouraged where possible. Females: Semi-Formal dresses, skirts or jumpsuits are suggested, florals encouraged. Wedges vs. high heels recommended due to differing terrain between ceremony and cocktail hour (Ceremony occurs on stone and Cocktail hour occurs on grass).
