Wedding Party

Meet our bridesmaids and groomsmen who will all be walking with us down the aisle!

Janice Lee

Maid of Honor

I met Akie during our freshman year of high school. I remember our mutual friends telling me that I ~needed~ to meet this girl and I’m so glad I did. From our teenage years to adulthood, Akie has been a constant in my life, both as a friend and sister in Christ. Despite differences in thought, lulls, or distance, I have never once doubted that she would be there for me to listen and to guide me to God’s goodness. I am so incredibly excited to be celebrating this day with her and am honored to be her Maid of Honor!

Zachary Chung

Best Man

Jeremiah and I met before our hippocampus was even developed. I assume we passed each others' vibe check, as we have remained friends to the modern age. To me, Jeremiah has always been and remains to be the funniest person on the planet. His sheer existence damages the careers of famous comedians, and he knows exactly how to incur permanent physical damage within my body. It's not an exaggeration to say his presence has solely made my life a better one. His open mindedness is always refreshing, and I knew it was only a matter of time before he found love and marriage. I am honored to take part in this special occasion, and will resist from sounding air horns during important speeches.

Kevin Gu

Man of Honor

I met Akie during our fall semester of Sophomore year at BU. By finals week, it was obvious we would become best friends. Since then, we've ran a half marathon together, had a blast at Disney World (twice), and acted/sang together in a capella concerts. While those activities are memorable, our best moments are without a doubt our shared laughs and childish inside joke moments during chill hangouts and 1:1. Through the good times and bad, Akie has been a primary supporter of my life and my endeavors the past 5 years. Now, I am so honored to be able to support her on her most important day, as her Man of Honor.

Curtis Lau

Groomsman

There wasn't a specific moment where I remember meeting Jeremiah but we grew up going to the same Church. Our parents were in the same cell group so we would basically hang out every Saturday and Sunday after Church. Jeremiah has been such a blessing in my life and I am very grateful that we can always joke around and talk about anything. From our childhood to adulthood, he has always encouraged me to look towards the cross. I am super excited to be celebrating this momentous event with one of my best friends and brothers in Christ!

Tiffany Hsu

Bridesmaid

I was lucky to have met Akie through a mutual friend during our first year at UConn. During all of the ups and downs throughout college til now, she has been a constant support system. I'm thankful to have met someone with such a caring nature and infectious silliness. We've experienced a lot of first and new experiences together and I honestly don't think I would have imagined doing them with another friend. I'm excited to be a part of another one of Akie's firsts and to celebrate the love between Akie and Jeremiah. I look forward to the big day and can't wait for the next adventures that are in store for them.

Groomsman

Jeremiah has been a part of my life since I could remember. Growing up in the same church together, Jeremiah would always reserve his energy for a big smile or for a silly laugh. Whether it’s complaining about character design in Smash or having discussions under the guise of fellow otakus, you can’t help but inherit the infectious positive energy that he emits. Despite his silly tendencies, we’ve had meaningful conversations about our relationships with God and I know that Jeremiah means to live this life on this Earth with the utmost intention. I never thought that this day would come and I genuinely look forward to celebrating this day with him and Akie.

Bridesmaid

If I look back to the first day of high school when I met Akie, I would have never guessed I would be sitting in my kitchen, 10 years later, writing about how she’s getting married - but here we are! It all begun when we started sharing muffins and having dance parties over Skype. You know - once you post a YouTube dance cover for someone, you really can’t go back. (Akie - means you’re stuck with me!) We have grown so much since then; our experiences together have made us stronger as individuals and as friends. Akie is a true friend who will always be there to support anyone she loves. I’m INSANELY excited to be a part of her life as she moves onto a new chapter. Congrats to Akie and Jeremiah - I’m looking forward to your future together!

Groomsman

I met Jeremiah, whom I affectionally call Jerry, for the first time at our christian fellowship's Fall retreat, during our Freshmen year. Somehow we ended up rooming together our Sophomore year with a couple other friends, and the rest is history. We inevitably got closer throughout the years from rooming together, me waking him up with my 1 minute apart early AM alarms (to which I failed to wake up to), him, eventually dragging me out to the gym, and even through work, in the good 'ol IT basement. Our sense of humor, I think, was where we really came to be good friends, and we've definitely bonded from enduring the tribulations of college, boring fruit to a meme or two hundred. He is a like-minded comedic genius, and a very good friend and brother of mine.

Akie and I met over Zoom during the pandemic through Cornerstone Church, but I always feel like we’ve known each other forever. In response to an icebreaker question for new hobbies, I half jokingly shared that I want to start running. Akie, while smiling widely as she does, offered to run with me and I couldn’t turn her down. Despite the long two miles we ran together, she encouraged me continuously, and I was so thankful for her obviously kind and loving gestures. This first run then led to many other runs and coffee after, “emergency” FaceTimes, dinners with soju, and now bridal brunches and many mutual friends. I love how intertwined our lives have become in the past short 8 months and can’t wait to witness her wedding so closely and to support her marriage with Jeremiah for life!

Groomsman

I met Jeremiah in the summer of ‘16, during which we served as counselors for an inner-city youth ministry called Project Destiny. We lived & labored together for a sweaty 7 weeks, a period which proved to be the starting line for one of my most cherished college friendships. Jeremiah stood out to me as a man of iron will and an earnest heart, and I soon found myself gravitating towards him at most church gatherings. Be it through shared sketchbooking, late-night voice calls, or rants about bad media, I’ve derived a surprising amount of inspiration & introspection even from our more mundane moments together. I’m both humbled and honored by the privilege of supporting my friend on this happy day!

Jessica Lin

Bridesmaid

Akie and I met in a capella in college but really got to know each other while commiserat- I mean cheering each other on in professional school. Even after Akie became a nurse (she made it!), I am so very grateful for our friendship and for the trust we place in each other. She is loving, kind, pushes me to be better, and makes me laugh even on my bad days. So extremely honored to be celebrating Akie and Jeremiah’s special day alongside them! #SpicyJeremakieRollForever2022

Groomsman

When I first laid my eyes upon him, he seemed like a fine young man. Sure, he was wearing crocs, but how bad could he be? It wasn't until a month later, in the dorms of Project Destiny, that I'd see who he truly was. Soon after moving in, we found an empty room with mattresses. Remembering that I had wrestled a little bit, he asked me to wrestle right there. I looked at him in disbelief as I helped with the mattresses. What sort of person would ask you to wrestle after only knowing them for a few days? Only a madman great friend like Jeremiah. And now here I am, still caught in his iron hold.
