We're Getting Married!

We met on Tinder with a simple swipe (yes, Tinder really does work)! Jeovanny was living in Rockford, and Makenzie was going to school at NIU in DeKalb. What started as a casual match quickly turned into something we both knew was special. Even with the distance, Jeovanny made the drive—whether it was to DeKalb or the two-hour trip to Kankakee. The miles never mattered when it meant spending time together. Our first date was in October at a haunted house, where Makenzie was absolutely terrified and held onto Jeovanny the entire time. Between the laughs and the scares, we knew there was something real there. On October 25, 2019, we officially became a couple. Not long after, Jeovanny moved back to Beardstown for work, and Makenzie took a leap of faith and moved south with him. That’s where we started building our life together in our first apartment. Our journey eventually brought us to Springfield, where we upgraded to a bigger place and continued building our future together. Through it all, we’ve seen God’s hand guiding our story and shaping our love with patience, faith, and grace. What began with a swipe turned into the greatest blessing—and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
