We met at church, Comunidad Cristiana de Concord, through mutual friends (shout out to Oscar & Lupita.) I, Jeny, had recently moved to California and was new to church. Oscar and Lupita invited me out to eat and Abraham happened to be there as well. Months laters we started talking, first through Facebook messages, then on the phone, and eventually we had our first date.

Our friends, Chelo and Lau, invited us to Carmel-by-the-Sea in Monterey. It's small town by the beach, a couple of hours away from where we live. It was rainy and foggy, I (Jeny) didn't want to go. I was like "Who goes to the beach when it's raining?!" But Abraham seemed really keen on going, so we went! After walking around for a bit, our friends decided they wanted to take some pictures by the beach. First we took some pictures of them, then they decided it was our turn. As we posed for pictures Abraham started to give his "proposal speech." Mid speech Chelo interrupted and asked us to do a different pose. Abraham annoyed, agreed. Once the picture was taken, he continued with his speech and eventually got on one knee and asked me to marry him and I obviously said yes!
