Haley likes to say that Zach planned a sunrise to sunset proposal. Zach told Haley he had something planned for them on Saturday, and that she needed to be awake and ready by 5am. He told her to dress comfy, but bring a change of clothes because they were going to a "nice-ish" lunch later in the day. To Haley's surprise, as the sun is rising they pull up to a hot air balloon group. Zach was always adamant that he would never go in a hot air balloon, so Haley was over the moon excited that he "caved". Once they finished the hot air balloon ride, Zach took Haley to brunch at one of his favorite places in Boulder, CO. From brunch, they drove up into the mountains behind Boulder where Zach surprised Haley with an outdoor couples massage. There were fountains and hummingbirds all around, and it was simply magical. After the massage, Zach said he had one more surprise, and that instead of lunch he had actually planned a picnic for them. They drove to this outdoor amphitheater overlooking Boulder, and that's where Zach proposed. He had his friend, Noah, hiding in the trees with a camera to capture the special moment. Just when Haley thought the surprises were over, they headed back to Denver only to walk in to a surprise engagement party with so many of their family and friends. Zach had even planned for some of Haley's best friends from high school to fly out and surprise her. They wrapped up the day with a private dinner at the restaurant where they had their first dinner date, and ended the night at the bar where they first met. It was a perfect day from start to finish.
